color and decorated with the Mayfair Open Rose pattern. This is a lovely pattern that consists of a double "Open Rose" contained in 4 panels. The rim of the bowl is beautifully scalloped and this is a substantial glass piece weighing 46 ounces. This bowl does have flourescence under black light.CONDITION: Although classified as used, the condition of this Hocking Glass Company bowl is superb. We can find no defects or damage. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, hairlines, rubbings, or scratches. (See the photos to judge for yourself.)DIMENSIONS: The bowl has a top diameter of 11 3/4"" edge to edge at the widest point. It has a height of 2 3/8". The stable base has a diameter of 4 1/2". HISTORY/MARKS: Founded in 1905 in Lancaster, Ohio by Issac Jacob Collins as Hocking Glass Company, this became one of the world’s major glass producers. By 1937, the company merged with AnchorCap and Closure Corporations and started using the name Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation in 1939. The Mayfair Open Rose pattern was produced 1931-1937 by the Hocking Glass Co. as one of their best selling depression glass patterns. In 1987, the Newell Company acquired Anchor Hocking Corporation and it operates with world wide facilities. Please view all pictures carefully as they are part of the description.
